Formula
Shipment CBM = sum of (row length × width × height × quantity)Rows remain editable source data in My Shipment; derived totals are not stored as a second source of truth.
Combine carton types into one shared shipment aggregate.
METHODOLOGY
Each carton type keeps its own source dimensions, quantity and optional mass. ShipmentPrep calculates each row in canonical units and aggregates unrounded row volumes.

| Carton type A | 2 × 500 × 400 × 300 mm; 12 kg each |
|---|---|
| Carton type B | 3 × the same dimensions; mass missing |
| Shipment volume | 0.30 m³ |
| Known mass | 24 kg |
| Actual shipment mass | Unavailable—incomplete |
Known mass is not shipment total mass when one or more carton types are missing mass. ShipmentPrep keeps that distinction visible instead of inventing a total.
Every row needs valid positive dimensions and quantity for a complete volume. A chargeable-mass comparison remains unavailable until all carton types include mass.
